This is it Caramel & Parsley 200th article

December 10, 2014 by Liz Gardner

It’s hard to believe but this is Caramel and Parsley’s 200th article and I could not let this opportune occasion pass by without a word or two! So here are three simple things I have had the personal pleasure of experiencing over the past 5 to 6 years since the beginning of Caramel and Parsley ~ with thanks

“There are times, regardless of the score, just to be alive is to be winning”

#1 Positive

The first is the absolute joy of simply being here to be able to write one more article. In the beginning it gave me a “reason” to get through some of the long days, researching and writing, not once but on two occasions. I look back with much happiness and delight at the birth of our first grandson, and now recently the thrill and excitement of our second grandson ~ they have given me a new reason to continue. My ever supportive family and good friends are always “there for me”. Thank you.

#2 Positive

The second positive aspect is the absolute Mt Everest of information that I have learned while researching articles and an equal amount I have forgotten during these years. It truly never ceases to amaze me the volume of information that is available on the internet, although I love my library of books some of which are like old friends. It has been an incredible learning curve, sorrowful and sad, fascinating to funny, researching the wide variety of topics from fishing for Dungeness crab on the West Coast to medical uses for marijuana. Some articles, like some days, are better than others but … there is always something new to do, see and learn.

There’s always lots to learn

#3 Positive

The third aspect is you. I have met some truly wonderful people through my blog as many times it seems all of us today are affected personally by cancer – a friend, family, a loved one. Some of you are facing challenging health issues and I am humbled that you have felt confident to confide in me. Many of you have questions which have become the basis for an article (Tired from having cancer).  Because I “have been there” it seems there is an almost instant connection for which I am most grateful and always endeavour to encourage those on a similar journey. Thank you for walking this road with me.

Places to see, things to do & many more people to meet

Thank you for your continued interest and caring, even when we don’t see “eye to eye”. It truly has been a pleasure and an enjoyable learning curve which has given me much happiness. I look forward to being able to write many more articles in the future … which I always hope are an encouragement and learning experience for you also.

Live each day with more zing, more depth and more joy! ~ Liz

Merry Christmas and a most Happy New Year!

It’s Good to See you – Don Williams

It’s good to see you, so good to see you
Oh how I’ve missed you, since I’ve been gone
I’ve crossed the ocean travelled through many lands
And it’s good to see you to be in your home

There’s something in me, that makes me wander
There’s many a land, I have to see
And when I’m far away, in a land of strangers
I know my good friends, think on me

It’s good to see you, so good to see you
Oh how I’ve missed you, since I’ve been gone
‘Cause I’ve crossed the ocean, travelled through many lands
And it’s good to see you, to be in your home

Oh it’s a wonder, when it comes to friendship
No matter how far away, no matter how long
There’s a constant thread, that’s never broken
And it ties me to, my friends at home

It’s good to see you, so good to see you
Oh how I’ve missed you since I’ve been gone
‘Cause I’ve crossed the ocean, travelled through many lands
And it’s good to see you, to be in your home
