Top Tweets 2021 continues ... Last year on Twitter was a roller coast ride, with interest in tweets up and down each month. What holds peoples' interest each month can be surprising. So as we start 2022 with a continuation of the global Covid pandemic; expectations are also 'be prepared' for a continuation of high interest in Health news. And here we go for 2021 ...

Top Tweets 2021 -January
The top tweet in January, 2021: "A great way to start the New Year "Eliminating Heart Attacks - is it the Cholesterol or What?" with Ivor Cummins 59 min video an interview with Dr Ross Walker in Sydney, Australia
As expected January started up with high interest in the global Covid19 pandemic so it is no surprise that another top tweet deservedly goes to Dr Aseem Malhotra and Dr Mark Hyman on their highly informative video "How Diet is driving Covid 19 Outcomes"
February 2021
Top interest for the month are the metabolic markers courtesy of Dr Aseem Malhotra, Cardiologist from his book “21-Day Immunity Plan” (2020) With thanks...

Globally poor diet is responsible for more disease and death
than lack of physical activity, smoking and alcohol combined.”
~ Dr Aseeem Malhotra “The Pioppi Diet” (Page 26)
March 2021
March was such an interesting month ... only one tweet reached the minimum criteria set in past years. Reversing Type 2 Diabetes was instantly popular early in March. A 43 min video interview with one of UK's "National Treasures" Dr David Unwin who has helped more people than he will ever know. Thanks again to Dr David Unwin for his sugar infographics.
March was such a wonderful month with the arrival of both Spring and daylight savings.

April & May 2021
The overwhelming top tweet was from Ivor Cummins with Dr Malcolm Kendrick
"What causes Heart Disease" (Episode 40) Highly informative and continues to be extremely popular.

May 2021
Welcome to the Spring weather and many hours spent in the garden. The most popular tweet was a repeat of last month on "What causes Heart Disease" Interview with Dr Malcolm Kendrick by Ivor Cummins which continues to be well watched.
“Sugar is now the most ubiquitous foodstuff worldwide, and has been added to virtually every processed food,
limiting consumer choice and the ability to avoid it.
Approximately 80 percent of the 600,000 consumer packaged foods in the United States
have added caloric sweeteners.”
- Robert H. Lustig MD
, "Fat Chance - Beating the Odds Against Sugar, Processed Food, Obesity & Disease"
June 2021
This was the most unusual of months: Lockdown rules were eased allowing travel and family visits; the unprecedented heat wave at the end of June was devastating for a number of reasons, mainly the deaths of hundreds of people, mostly seniors. For the third month in a row interest in the interview with Dr Malcolm Kendrick continues unchallenged ... Another very popular tweet was "Study of the long-term effects of exercise training on mortality in elderly people"
July 2021
"Cancer Prevention & Insulin - Keto Diet" was a runaway tweet at the end of the month: Great 4 minute tweet packed with up-to-date information. Topics include carbohydrates, obesity, insulin, diabetes. With Chi Van Dang and Sam Apple who wrote "Ravenous". I appreciated this personally as a breast & lung cancer survivor.
August 2021
August was a "Covid Controversial" month with ups and downs, but no question which was the top tweet again in August 2021. Heart Disease remains the #1 global "killer" with continuing high interest "What causes Heart Disease" Interview with Dr Malcolm Kendrick by Ivor Cummins (See April link)
September 2021
Health & Diet top interest as local schools open up with "Intake of Nuts & Seeds Is Associated with a Lower Prevalence of Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease" (9/2021) from Dr Atanasov
October 2021
October was a repeat of February 2021 with Metabolic Health Markers from Dr Malhotra as #1.
November 2021
#1 this month was "Heart Attack Warning: "Dr Aseem Malhotra reveals a cardiology researcher found similar results to a new report showing an increase in risk of heart attack following the mRNA COVID vaccine" Short 4 minute video viewed many times on @GBNews
Another popular tweet from the beginning of the month was : "Consumption of 85% cocoa dark chocolate improves mood in association with gut microbial changes in healthy adults..." 'the effects of dark chocolate intake on mood in everyday life' RT by Dr Atanas Atanasov. (9/2021) As Charles M. Schulz aptly said decades ago in the words of Charlie Brown:
All you need is love.
But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.
The British Columbia province-wide floods were the top interest for the last half of November. Our hearts go out to the many people who lost so much and are rebuilding their lives during Winter and the Christmas season. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
December 2021
During the entire month of December the local BC floods dominated the local postings with many weather alerts and notices. Condolences to the families who lost loved ones and also the many whose homes were destroyed as well as loss of livestock and farming income. Heavy rains continue into January, 2022 and #BCFloods hashtag is still current.
