The question "what are some healthy lung cancer tips you live by" was on my Twitter feed this morning. My first thought was how aware you become of everything that pertains to Life when diagnosed with lung cancer and what can you do. I have been fortunate in that the lung cancer was discovered early and surgery was very swift with the cancer being "mildly" invasive. My 4 year CT can results last month were "stable". Hoping these ideas will help you deal with what is happening in your life and for you to become a healthier "You" - here we go:
When you are diagnosed with lung cancer
Take charge of your Life
- Stop smoking - J'arrete de fumer
- Learn all you can about your disease and keep a log. It's a new language
- Ask what are your options: surgery, treatment, requirements
- Seek the best medical advice you can
- Make living your priority! You are unique and so is the cancer
- Lung cancer is not a disease you should stick your head in the sand about - no matter how unpleasant the news.
Quitting ...
What's in it for me?
Why should I stop smoking?

- After the lung cancer surgery a 2nd medical opinion was sought on the cancer biopsy report. I was told to be ready for "palliative care" within 6 months. I was devastated ... but this report inspired me to fight and not give up hope and this is why I say to you ...
Never Give Up!

Notes:
- Research and ask about the latest surgery and treatment for your type of lung cancer

- Change of scenery. While awaiting results from a biopsy, it was good to go away for a holiday
- Find what works for you and your family - accept help from family and friends. People love to lend a helping hand

isn't about waiting
for the storm to pass.
It's about learning
