A Special New Year Celebration Dinner

New Year is definitely a time to celebrate the passing of the old year and welcoming in the New!  A special dinner is always a good way to celebrate a once-a-year occasion. Fresh seafood from our Pacific North West ocean is a marvellous way of using our own freshly caught (and quick frozen) Dungeness Crab.  Possibilities for appetizers, mains, and dessert are:

    New Year's Appetizers

The devilled eggs are the most complicated part of the entire meal! A home-made salsa is simple to make using your own preserved tomatoes and adding fresh diced tomatoes, garlic, peppers, parsley. These three items can all be prepared beforehand so you can spend time relaxing with guests.

What could be more delicious than our own caught "local" Dungeness Crab (or East Coast lobster). We freeze our crab as soon as possible after catching them. Seafood is so easy to prepare - if frozen, and pre-cooked, bring to boil and simmer about 5 minutes and serve with hot garlic butter for dipping.  Serve the crab or lobster with hot vegetables or salads.

    Refreshing Fruit Desserts

Fruit is a perennial favourite in our family either on a platter with cheeses and water crackers or served with tasty refreshing Greek yoghurt. Simple, refreshing, fresh, local and a great way to start the New Year.  Keep it simple or as complex as you wish but above all ~ enjoy!

Very best wishes again for an amazingly happy and healthy 2018

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

    The traditional New Years Song:

"Should Auld Acquaintance be forget"  ~ Robert Burns

    Should old acquaintance be forgot
    And never brought to mind
    Should old acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne
For auld lang syne, my dear,
    For auld lang syne,
    We'll take a cup o'kindness yet
And days of auld lang syne
