Lung Cancer : It’s been a few years since writing about this topic but the questions are starting again on how I am managing. I just had my first CT Lung Cancer Scan in three years since 2019. The scan was scheduled on our Thanksgiving weekend and now the results have been received from my Respirologist & GP. Here we go . . .

Lung Cancer Scan Results:
It seemed a very long time (pre covid) since visiting my respirologist and she had just received the verbal scan results from the hospital quoted as follows:
- Stable postsurgical changes in the right lower lobe
- The previously noted tree-in-bud opacities in the right lower lobe have resolved.
- A pleural base nodule in the left lower lobe is stable
- A 2nd nodule in the adjacent left lower lobe is unchanged.
- Previously noted tree-in-bud changes in the right lung are no longer seen.
- No other suspicious findings
- Absolutely wonderfully amazing!
- The office phoned me after to let me know that I no longer require annual lung scans
- Thankful and joyous 💕 is an understatement.

Lifestyle Changes Made after Cancers ?
One of the questions I am often asked is what changes I have made over the recent years. In all honesty, its pretty much the same for the past few years.
Since Covid began I no longer swim regularly but it has been replaced by the Rebounder and I enjoy daily exercise such as walking and gardening, etc. My Respirologist asked about, and discussed my general health, eg:
- No prescription drug medications
- Daily Vitamin D, curcumin (since Breast Cancer in 2008), B12, C & recently added magnesium
- We continue our lifestyle of a Low Carb style diet, with very little (mostly nil) added sugar
I enjoy home canning and cooking our home grown food from scratch - No known diagnosed chronic complaints or diseases. Yes, I have a few 'self diagnosed' aches and pains, etc commensurate with my age
- The best advice I received at the close of my ultra happy lung scan appointment was a simple recommendation for "Longevity " from my respirologist I would love to pass on . . . simply "EXERCISE and keep moving"

In Closing
It goes without saying that the waiting six months for an appointment and then another week for results has its own stress. The euphoric results are so mind boggling that I think it must be what it is like to win a lottery - but much better! I consider myself so fortunate and am so grateful for the care I have received over the past decade. Special THANKS to those who really care; family, friends and medical professionals. My thankfulness is never-ending. Always remember, to think and care for other people who are going through challenging health issues.
