Nanaimo - a town we drove through two decades ago to catch a ferry home. This time we stayed and re-familiarized ourselves with this bustling little city. Situated on the ocean there are lovely water vistas, incredible forests and beaches around every corner. There must be more deer on Vancouver Island than anywhere else in Canada ~ because they also seem to be around every corner or in your yard. A great friendly and compact city to explore. Let's go...

In closing :
There is so much to see especially if you like the outdoors. There are many fun activites like kayaking, sailing, mountain biking and walking. We travelled short distances north (to Parksville) and south (to Ladysmith & Duncan) from Nanaimo. There is so much to see, we look forward to our return. Happy Travels in Beautiful British Columbia. Take care & be safe ~ Liz
Note: "Self Isolating" while Travelling
We are most fortunate to be able to travel in a completely self contained small trailer. More importantly we stayed in the RV on the 2 hour ferry rides from Vancouver to Nanaimo & return. A great way to travel with an ocean view. We stayed in the Living Forest RV camp which was very well organized. As well, we had no concerns social distancing while in the camp or travelling.
