Here is part three of Baby Recipes ~ wholesome, natural food recipes to continue your one year old (plus) baby on the road to a healthy lifestyle. Besides good nutrition and ease of preparation the added bonus is that there can be a lot of variations for these recipes and they all taste great. So here is the last (for now) baby food idea ~ after breakfast, lunch and dinner ~ here's dessert!
Fresh Fruit Super Smoothie
- ½ cup Almond Milk (see Baby Recipe #2 for homemade recipe)
- Handful Organic Blueberries
- ½ or ⅓ Banana
- ⅓ Pear or apple
Blend the milk and fruit together until smooth, adding a teaspoon of fresh organic lemon juice for Vitamin C if desired. This small amount should not upset baby's tummy.

Delicious Fresh Fruit Dessert
- Combine 3 or 4 fresh fruit such as, blueberries, banana, apple or pear; chop and blend
- Then mix the fruit with homemade apple sauce (see recipe below)
- Or served with organic plain (sugar-free) yoghurt
Quick Apple Sauce
- 2 Apples – peel and dice ½” cubes
- Small Amount Water
- Simply place the apples in a saucepan, with enough water to cover,
- Bring to the boil and simmer for about seven minutes until cooked.
- When cool, puree the apples in a blender and
- Serve or mix with Delicious Dessert fruits above
- This is so easy and tasty

Apple sauce is also incredibly versatile.
It is fine just as is or :
- As a topping for pancakes for dessert
- As a topping for oatmeal with a sprinkle of cinnamon for breakfast, or
- Mix with Butternut Squash or Avocado or any other fruit or vegetable which is your child's favourite.
- This is great to freeze as well.

Notes
- Kiwi fruit and strawberry can be saved for when baby is older
- Our grandson loves a few freshly picked wild blackberries
- If purchasing Almond Milk remember to buy unsweetened, non additive milk
- From a safety point of view also remember to chop baby's fruit into bite size pieces, including blueberries, to avoid choking
- As mentioned in Recipe #1 only feed almond milk and other nut products to your baby after testing them for allergies
