    2017 Top tweets of the year. This year has been unusually busy for Caramel and Parsley especially in the second half of the year.  It is interesting how trends and people's interests change over the years. Here are the top tweets for each month in 2017 :

    Top Tweets for 2017  in Review

    January

    The top tweet this month was "15 Surprising Environmental Trends for 2017"  which covered subjects from bees to wind energy, biodiversity, conservation and oceans.

    February

    Caramel and Parsley's  article on "The Great Bike Race In Victoria, Australia" was top of the list and is about a memorable cycling event which takes place every year in Country Victoria.

    March

    Top Tweet: A study by Chem Trust: The impact of chemicals on children's brain development - a No Brainer

    April

    This month's top tweet was information and statistics on the Lower Mainland Southwest - British Columbia's Farming cornucopia.  Fraser Valley's 5,400 farms producing over 65% of BC’s agricultural output

    May

    "Mountain Ash Forests as a Carbon store" - an article on old growth forests being  important as carbon stores & should be preserved as they are valuable in the fight against climate change.  This top tweet was written by P.D. Gardner in Victoria, Australia

    June

    Top Tweet: The keynote speech and report on the state of the clean energy industry at Bloomberg’s Future of Energy Global Summit in New York, April 2017 120 long-range electric vehicles will be on the market by 2020

    July

    The entire month of July the tweets of most interest were to do with the disastrous BC Wildfires in the Cariboo with evacuation alerts for Williams Lake and other areas, the air quality health index and highway driving status during this wildfire.

    August

    "Sugar is the New Tobacco so let's Treat it that Way" by Dr. Aseem Malhotra on the topic of the positive health benefits achieved by reducing our sugar intake

    September

    "Is Vitamin D Supplementation able to Prevent Influenza" by Dr. Atanas Atanasov

    October

    Dr Mike Evans explains how to use a Defibrillator in an emergency in this excellent 4 minute video

    November

    Study: "Natural Products to Counteract the Epidemic of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disorders"  by B. Waltenberger , A. Mocan , K. Šmejkal , E.H. Heiss  and A. G. Atanasov

    and lastly, December

    December was interesting in that the top two articles with the highest interest were both from Dr. Atanas Atanasov.  The top article was "Opposite effects of Glucose & Fructose on Metabolic Health Status" and the second being "Natural Products to Counteract the Epidemic of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disorders" which was the November Top Tweet. These two articles also were the highest in total numbers for all of 2017.

    Notes:

    The tweet response in the latter half of 2017 was overwhelming for topics to do mainly with Metabolic Disorders, Sugar, Diabetes, Obesity and Heart Disease and diet.
